Friday Foto
Is it Friday yet? I don’t know about you but I am so ready for some time off. And happily, it is in sight. Classes finish up today at Queen’s, SLC and RMC so we’ll likely have to endure a house party or two this weekend until the studying starts but I’m OK with that, I remember that sense of relief knowing that I don’t have to get up for my Friday morning music theory class for three or four whole weeks! Meanwhile, those of us living outside the post-secondary bubble could probably stand a little break too. This weekend is a great chance to forget about the Christmas shopping for a while and to take in some great music and art.
The Union Gallery is hosting a new exhibit featuring two Kingston artists and there will be a launch tomorrow for a new photography exhibit by Randy deKleine-Stimpson at Studio 33o. Tonight you can catch Drumhand and Treebot at The Mansion or, if you prefer blues and swing, head to the RCHA for Jenny MacDonald. I know I’ll be attending CFRC’s Dance to the Underground tomorrow night and then the Kingston Symphony’s Messiah on Sunday afternoon. If you do want to continue with your shopping list, the Gift Giving Show begins today at Fort Henry and will run all weekend long as well as The Kingston Holiday Fayre at The Upper Canada Academy. I’m just scraping the surface of events though so be sure to check out our calendar for more great things happening this weekend.
I took today’s photo at Modern Fuel and Minotaur’s launch party for their new Art Cards. Check out our flickr to see more shots of these cards created by local artists.
