Friday Foto
Hey there, and happy Friday. This week we welcomed Kingston’s hippest Librarian to the City, and are optimistic that once she’s nonnomadic, she might be willing to share some of her experiences as a newcomer to our burgeoning metropolis. Notice how craftily I incorporated big, fancy words in that sentence? Perhaps diction will improve overall on Kingstonist, if we gain a contributor who’s well versed in the art of the Dewy Decimal Classification.
As a reminder, we’re still seeking your opinions as to how we can make Kingstonist way more awesome. Thus far, only four readers have weighed in on the issue, so the odds of winning this contest (ending on June 17th) are in your favour. One of the suggestions was to improve the layout of our calendar, as the main page only displays a brief rundown of upcoming events. We’ve been meaning to do something about that, but in the meantime you can browse through a complete archive of events in Kingston by clicking here. In fact, we highly recommend it if you’re looking for something to do this weekend.
Today’s picture comes to you courtesy of kingstongal. It’s an amazing shot of the Tetra sculpture, Wolfe Island wind turbines, a recycling station, and the waterfront along Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, which are all reflected in a window. Kingstongal adds “a sparrow on the bench thrown in for good measure – but he’s not a landmark.” Be sure to check out more of images via Flickr.
From what I hear, librarians respond quite well to big fancy words.
