Words such as icon and legend come to mind when I think about Leonard Cohen. However when I was faced with the cost of admission to his concert at the K-Rock Centre tonight, these pleasant descriptors were overshadowed by phrases including highway robbery, and rip off. Exorbitantly high priced Cohen tickets are not unique to Kingston. Further, he deserves every pretty penny that they’re charging at the box office. But that’s the problem. Cohen doesn’t see any extra green when scalpers and ticket resellers jack up the price. So instead of going to see what will likely be the best concert the K-Rock Centre has ever seen, I’m refusing to buy into the corrupt, and illegal system of ticket resale.
