The Limestone Classic

Despite the intermitent showers, Feb Fest 09’s Limestone Classic attracted droves of energetic spectators to Market Square yesterday. Famous cowboy referee Jim Dorey officiated games all day long featuring ex-NHL’ers including Doug Gilmour (in goal), Bob Probert, Rick Middleton, Tim Taylor, and many more who were sprinkled into the lineup of 10 corporate-sponsored teams. The 4-on-4 shiny was fast and fun, and it is clearly a favorite Feb Fest tradition for fans and players alike. Check out our YouTube and our Flickr to see some of the highlights from the Limestone Classic, 24 hour Snow Sculpture Competition, and many other Feb Fest sights! It all wraps up today with the 40th annual historic hockey series between the Royal Military College of Canada, Queen’s University and the 2nd Regiment from Royal Canadian Horse Artillery from CFB Petawawa.

Apparently herself and the two fierce creatures enjoyed the RCHA v Queens game immensely – topping it off with hot chocolate and a beaver tail. Sorry to have missed it – Kingston can give itself a pat on the back with Febfest.

    cheers, Junior
