Win your way to Overnight Sensation in Gananoque

For those of you reeling from the pandemic and craving a night of high-caliber comedy, local funny lady and nationally-renowned comedian Deborah Kimmett is taking to the stage in Gananoque for a limited engagement, and we want to send you! 

Kimmett says her latest show, “Overnight Sensation,” centers around a lot of her own lived experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as losing her mother slowly to dementia, not to mention the realization of, and coming to terms with, her own aging, what aging means society thinks of her, and receiving her first old age security cheque. 

Kimmett says she wrote the show as a way to not only stay sharp with her comedy skills, but also to help her navigate major events happening in her life while being isolated because of the pandemic. 

The show was also recently taped and will be released as a new comedy album with Howl and Roar Records in Toronto.

You may also recognize Kimmett’s signature sharp commentary from her last comedy album, ‘Downward Facing Broad,’ which reached #5 on iTunes! She is also a regular on CBC’s Winnipeg Comedy Festival, LOL, and is an accomplished author of four books, and so much more.

Adding another aspect of something we all craved during our pandemic-forced isolation, the show will open with live music! A favourite performer of many in the region and a band known to sell out shows in the Limestone City, The Kim Pollard Band will open the night with Pollard’s signature of powerful, soulful blues stylings, and a band whose groove will have everyone forgetting those days without dancing, singing, and coming together for music.
