Craig Cardiff: Recovering

Just over one month ago, I  was introduced to The Luso Sessions, a locally made video series that showcases intimate performances by musicians whose tours or travels happen to pass through Kingston. Created by Christina Mac for her final project in Music and Digital Media at St. Lawrence College, this labour of love has grown beyond a requisite assignment to show great promise.  As an instant fan of The Luso Sessions, I’ve been keeping a keen eye out for new episodes, which continue to reinforce our awareness of the high level of imported talent taking the stage at local watering holes and less familiar venues.  More often than not, Kingstonist narrowly focuses on upcoming events and local artists, therefore The Luso Sessions offers us an opportunity to cast our gaze in a new and interesting direction.

The latest episode of The Luso Sessions features Craig Cardiff performing the song Recovering.  The video itself was shot at an informal house concert on Brock Street last February, before or after his gig at Clark Hall Pub. This is a timely feature as Cardiff returned to the Limestone City last night for another private house concert.  Such small shows are seemingly becoming more and more popular in Kingston, partly due to their novelty but also because they place the few, lucky attendees closer to the action than most other local stages.  Hit play below and enjoy!

For those of you who may have missed past installments of The Luso Sessions that were featured on Kingstonist, please take some time to explore the project via the links below.

Once again, thanks to Christina Mac and those who continue to make the The Luso Sessions possible.
