At the movies in Kingston: December 27 edition

A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood is playing at The Screening Room

Welcome back to ‘At the Movies in Kingston’. The box office is getting ready to close out the year with two new releases and some strong holdovers.

Here is what’s new at the Kingston theatres for the week starting December 27.

Landmark Cinemas:

Spies in Disguise is the animated tale of Lance Sterling (Will Smith), who is transformed into a pigeon by inventor Walter Beckett (Tom Holland). They must work together to save the world from an evil villain.

Little Women is the current take by writer director Greta Gerwig of the classic Louisa May Alcott tale. The film is a timely take on the growth of the March sisters and how they choose to live their life on their own terms and not how society dictates.

Weekend Pick:

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will dominate the box office again this weekend. No doubt it will continue to reign at the box office for weeks to come. However, there are plenty of films to see.

Have a great week. Welcome the new year with joy and remember that when you are watching a movie at the theatre, please stay off facebook. It is distracting to those around you.
