1976 Olympic Games Supported by Kingston

1000 Islands Poker Run, Kingston, OntarioFor those of you still caught up in watching the Olympics, our photo today is from the 1976 Montreal Games. While the games were predominantly held in Montreal, the sailing events were held at Kingston due to the superior fresh water sailing conditions available here. (Apparently Kingston has some of the best fresh water sailing in the world! Who knew? Well, probably people who sail know, but we are obviously not in the category.) Kingston still plays host to the Canadian Olympic-training Regatta (CORK) annually. This photo was taken at Olympic Harbour in Portsmouth and shows the Canadian team parading into the arena.
