#ygkChallenge: Photo Call
The #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.
This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:
Show us your best photos! Twice a year, Kingstonist showcases the best photos from local photographers who go head to head, and frame to frame, in a little friendly competition. Once again, we’re calling on all shutterbugs to upload their best shots of Kingston to our Flickr group. It doesn’t matter if the pictures were taken 10 minutes ago or 10 months ago, as long as they’re totally local and honestly yours, we want to see them! Participants can upload as many pictures as they wish until midnight on Thursday, November 30th, after which we’ll sift through the entries to reveal the finalists. Voting will subsequently begin on Monday, December 4th to crown the champ in our latest greatest photo contest. As is tradition, the winner will receive bragging rights, and their choice of a gift certificate from Kingston Frameworks or Camera Kingston. Even if one of your photos isn’t picked for our contest, there’s a good chance we’ll feature it (giving you full credit) at some point down the road. Happy snapping, Kingston!
Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.
Thanks to Alan Bell for today’s photo.
