Next Monday marks Kingstonist’s 7th birthday! Whenever our birthday rolls around, Harvey and I take time to reflect on the ways in which Kingstonist has changed, grown and flourished over the years. It’s always amazing to look at what we’ve accomplished and to note that none of it would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our writers. We are so lucky to have such devoted volunteers helping us spread the word about all the great things happening in Kingston.
The other piece of the puzzle we couldn’t possibly be without is, of course, you: our loyal readers. Our mission when starting Kingstonist 7 years ago was to create a resource where Kingstonians could go to get information on topics that are important to all of us. We aim to promote the wide range of events that make our city an exciting and diverse place to live. We also work hard to provide a place where our readers can join in on meaningful conversations about everything from art exhibits and hockey games to city council and traffic concerns. Our success up to this point is a reflection of all of you who have joined us here daily and engaged in these important discussions. So, to thank you all for your time and your ideas, we have a bunch of really awesome prizes to give away!
Between now and midnight on Sunday, March 8th, we invite you to comment, tweet at us and share our posts on Facebook for your chance to win. Every time you participate, you will be entered into a draw to win one of 5 great, locally sourced prizes:
- 2 tickets to the Kingston Symphony‘s O’Callahan Sings Cohen concert on March 28th
- 2 tickets to The Kingston Derby Girls home opener (date not yet announced)
- A $25 gift certificate to Red House
- A $25 gift certificate to Dianne’s Fish Bar
- A $25 gift certificate to Bella Bistro
So, over the next week and a half, be sure to visit regularly to share your two cents. If you haven’t already, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. As always, we look forward to hearing from you! Thank you, Kingston!
