#ygkChallenge: Share Your Perfect Summer Day in Kingston

staycation, summer, Kingston, OntarioThe #ygkChallenge is an ongoing series where we dare you to be different, resolve to be better, and or do something awesome in support of our beloved community. Each week, Kingstonist establishes a new, ambitious or quirky goal, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do something great, and hopefully a little out of the ordinary. By taking part in this community-wide initiative, we hope to make Kingston (and the world) a slightly better place to live, work and play.

This week’s #ygkChallenge encourages you to:

Share your perfect summer day in Kingston. Kingston is a great place to be in the summertime. Whether you’re enjoying one of our many festivals, catching a local band at Confederation Basin, hitting the drive-in, heading to this weekend’s Princess Street Promenade or just hanging out on one of our fantastic local patios, Kingston offers a great summer fun vibe. Sometimes it takes a bit of planning and research to remind us of all of the great things our city has to offer at this time of year. With another glorious long weekend ahead of us (and still many more weeks of summer to enjoy) this week we challenge you to share your staycation plans. What local fun is on your summer bucket list? Maybe you have a favourite secret spot that’s great for taking a dip, or you want to tout your go-to ice cream shop.  Tell us all about it! We’ll be sure to share your great ideas on Twitter to help spread the joy!

Join us in completing this week’s #ygkchallenge by liking it on Facebook and/or re-Tweeting it on Twitter. By liking and sharing, you’re not only committing to doing something great, but you’re also helping us spread the word and hopefully encouraging others to participate.

Thanks to mararie for today’s photo.
