Best Iced Coffee in Kingston
The weather in Kingston has wavered between two extremes in Summer 2017: unrelenting downpours and sticky, sweltering heat. When conditions are too hot to handle, many of us have reached for our favourite cool treats to help make things a bit more bearable. Of course, one of the most popular ways to beat the heat is to sip on a delicious iced coffee. But where can you find the best iced coffee in Kingston?
For starters, you need to look for a place that makes iced coffee properly, in which case there are generally two acceptable approaches to crafting the perfect iced coffee: cold brew, and the iced pour-over. The cold brew technique usually involves letting your beans soak in a french press filled cold water, for upwards of 12 hours, then pouring into an icy vessel. Whereas the iced-pour over method simply requires pouring reasonably cooled coffee into an ice-filled cup. Both approaches to preparing iced coffee have earned fervent supporters who will argue that one way is better than the other. I for one prefer the cold brew (served black), which tends to have more of that caffeine kick I’m looking for.
Considering the many local coffee shops serving up iced coffee, lattes and mochas, we want to know:

Iced coffee is definitely trendy but it’s also nothing new, and for that reason I think it’s safe to say that we can expect to find it on the menu for decades to come. And when it comes to the current options in Kingston, we’re truly well served by our local establishments who can’t seem to serve this popular drink up quick enough.
How do you like your iced coffee, cold brew or poured over ice? Do you opt for a cup of pure and unadulterated black (like me) on sweltering days, or are you a fan of lattes, mochas and add-ins like milk, sugar and unnecessary whipped cream? Sweat the details, and tell us all about the spot that serves up the absolute best iced coffee in Kingston.
