We are looking for families willing to participate with our N370 Home Visits program. The program involves 2 – 3 nursing students visiting your home three times for approximately 1 hour each time.
This experience with volunteer families is part of a course in Family –centered Nursing with the purpose of helping students understand and learn how they can best develop a collaborating relationship with family members. Your family does not need to have any current health issues. This is an exercise where the students learn about community nursing. The visits will include some general questions about your family and some specific questions about their health.
Depending on any specific needs of your family which may arise, the visits may also include:
• Working with you on a health problem that is of concern to your family (this may be an immediate family member, someone from your extended family – such as a parent, sibling, grandparent or even people close to you who you consider “family”
• Planning a course of action
• Assisting you with getting answers to your questions
• Discussing available resources for your family
Students are required to make a record of their visits however no identifying information will be recorded. Any information you share during the experience will be held in strictest confidence.
