With Summer in full swing, many of us will soon be venturing out to local golf courses to take in a spirited round or two on the links. Of course, I’d be lying if I professed my absolute love for the game, as I can think of dozens of better ways to spend a small fortune just to go on a frustrated walk and come away with a severe sunburn. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as though I hate sandbagging for triple bogey. Rather, it’s the short game I prefer.
Mini golf or mini putt is something that almost everyone has tried at one time or another. The “sport” is largely relegated as a cheesy tourist time-killer or cheap amusement park attraction, and in comparison to actual golf, it requires very little skill or patience in order to compete. With well over a dozen golf courses in the local area, you may or may not be surprised to learn that Kingston is largely lacking when it comes to options for mini golf. This of course makes the best mini golf in Kingston rather elusive, due to the number of courses, and their generally underwhelming quality.

Having played a few rounds at almost all of the local courses over the years, I’ve come to realize that Kingstonians deserve a proper, challenging mini golf course. Forget the spinning windmills, oversized animatronic mascots and unimpressive bank shots off of two-by-fours. We need 18 holes modeled after an actual golf course, complete with sand traps, ponds various other realistic hazards. Sure, that sounds like actual golf, but if you’ve ever been to such a mini putt course, you know that the experience and competition, either with others or just yourself, is truly awesome.
Considering the local options, which course do you consider to be the best mini golf in Kingston? Stay out of the tall grass and let us know whether or not you think Kingston deserves a better option for mini golf.
