Mouthy is a monthly, storytelling series in Kingston, Ontario founded by local event planners Vince Perez and Laura Kelly. Mouthy storytelling nights take place in a variety of venues around Kingston and each has a specific theme. Everyone is welcome to come out and share a story or simply sit and listen. Stories told can be factual or fictional, of your own, or someone else’s! Started in 2009, Mouthy ran regular storytelling nights for a year before taking a short hiatus in 2011. Now back, the group is eager to host more storytelling nights and plans to bring back favourite themes like “ghost stories” and “diary readings.”
At Mouthy events, we try to create a forum where the wonderful art of engaging storytelling can be practiced and shared. We hope to get the word out about these events so that more people can come and share in the experience.
The next Mouthy event will be taking place at The Screening Room. The theme is “Travel and Pilgrimage” and local author Iain Reid will be a special guest storyteller.
