At first the works are mistaken for photographs. Closer inspection reveal them to be pencil drawings of great quality. They have been described as stunning and strange, works of odd realism. Ewa Scheer affirms the primacy of pencil drawing as the very first human aesthetic expression and embraces photography as a carrier of truth rather than a mere reference material.
