Greg Runions Big Band feat. composer Fred Stride

Vancouver jazz composer, Fred Stride will be visiting Kingston to collaborate with local musician Greg Runions and his big band.  The show will take place in The Wilson Room at The Central Public Library on Johnson St.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors and are available at the door.

For this performance the Fred will join the ensemble and will rehearse the band and conduct them through his music at the performance. An award winning composer, Stride’s works are played throughout North America. His works are published through the great jazz orchestra music publishing company Sierra Music. This publisher also features the works of the great jazz arrangers Bill Holman, Don Sebesky, Slide Hampton, Joe LaBarbera and several other internationally renown jazz arrangers.

As usual the band will feature some very exciting guest soloists. These include trumpeters Brian O’Kane, Jocelyn Couture, saxophonist Chet Doxas, bassist Artie Roth and pianist David Braid. In addition to these exceptional soloists the band will include regular players saxophonists Chris Alfano, Jonathon Stewart, Merlin Williams, Andrew Pitkin, brass players Janet MacRae, Blair Yarranton, Mike Verner, Andy Sparling, John Palmer, Taylor Donadlson, Tim Booth, rhythm players Mike Cassells, Dave Barton and Greg Runions.
