CFRC 101.9fm, in conjunction with the Artignite festival, presents a live performance and broadcast of “A Windy Radio Drama” on in Wallace Hall, John Deutsch University Centre on Queen’s campus.
While hundreds of ruby-lights appear mysteriously on an abandoned island in the middle of the night, researchers inside a sinister Radio Laboratory intercept strange transmissions on their bat-sonar translator. The transmission source cannot be traced to any place on earth!
This sci-fi satire is loosely based around the recent appearance of wind turbines on nearby Wolfe Island. Conceived, written and produced by CFRC staff and volunteers this past fall, “A Windy Radio Drama” is staged live for the first time this February 10. Come by Wallace Hall to see dialogue, sound effects and music performed live before your eyes, or tune into CFRC at 101.9fm to hear the magic over the air. The performance kicks off at 8pm sharp, so don’t be late!
Admission is by donation. This event is being held in celebration of CFRC’s fifth annual Funding Drive, taking place February 5-14, 2010. For more information, please visit www.cfrc.ca.
