Friday Foto

frost, winter, Kingston, OntarioIs it just me, or did Old Man Winter give us a nasty jab over the past few days? Although complaining about the inevitable freeze is going to get me nowhere, I have to protest that I am not looking forward to the months ahead. Sure I have a birthday coming up, and then there’s Christmas and New Years, but I would rather be on the other side of all these flurries, futile shovel sessions and debilitating heating bills. The idea of cozying up to the warm fire is alluring, and the image of happy faces skating on Springer Market Square is appealing, but I want more of Autumn. Next to Spring, Fall is the ultimate teaser season, as it never truly arrives nor lingers long enough for us to enjoy.  It seems like just the other day I was picking jalapeños from our backyard garden, then came the days of raking leaves into the green bin.  At least I’ve still got Friday to look forward to.  Carpe Diem my friends!  This may well be one of the last great weekends before we are forced to endure the big chill.  Special thanks to jfournierphoto for today’s shot of the scourge known as frost. Spring, if you can hear me, hurry up and get here.
