The City is creating a Community Cultural Policy Plan that will shape the cultural development of the Kingston community over the next ten years.

Two workshops to discuss the plan will be held at Memorial Hall, City Hall, 216 Ontario St.:

Informal Kickoff Event – Wednesday, September 23rd at the Mansion featuring music by Sheeshman and Lotus and Free Whiskey (collective of Queen’s music and drama students). Event starts at 8pm with music starting at 9. Members of the team will be available to meet and talk, and additional information will also be available about the Community Cultural Policy Plan.

Evening Public Workshop – Thursday, September 24th from 7 to 9pm. A brief presentation to introduce the project and roundtable discussions to explore issues, opportunities and challenges.

Daytime Public Workshop – Friday, September 25th from 9 to 11am. This session will follow the same format as the Evening Public Workshop.

The success of this major initiative depends on the involvement of the community, businesses, and residents. The consulting team will be in Kingston for 2½ days and will participate in a number of activities (interviews, site visits and conversations), the results of which will help inform the discussions at the public workshops and the ongoing development of the plan.
