I think it looks sweet! Looking forward to it.

Anyway, it is certainly easy to question and/or criticize the City's spending habits, but I cannot fathom the difficulty in making those decisions, when there are needs and demands all around. In reality, there is not a single piece of infrastructure, nor a park, nor a facility that does not need work, to some extent. For sure I disagree in some cases, but my personal opinion is that $ invested in a public park, on the waterfront, is a sound way to invest in the City.

I agree, the outdoor amphitheatre is an excellent idea. I've been to a number of small concerts at venues like that and its fun, particularly since I am not a bar-goer and have no chance otherwise to see live music. Hopefully some of the better local bands would consider it a great place to play.

I was down at Centennial Park on Sunday and saw a bunch of protest banners (or something to that effect) taped onto city hall. I didn't bother reading them, as it seemed a pretty half-assed way to protest, but do recall seeing something about a $6million renovation of a park. I suppose this was it?

Curious, the plan looks quite good I think, and the park will get good usage during the summer months. Anything to enhance this city's waterfront can't be anything but good, it's in dire need of a facelift.

That being said, $6mil could do a lot of good downtown, and in other areas of the city where an inordinate amount of corners seem to be getting cut when it comes to basic infrastructure. Although I do enjoy the quick asphalt patch job they have been using on the pavements lately, it looks very nice...ahem.
