Movies in the Square is an opportunity for families to enjoy popular movies in our picturesque Market Square, located just behind City Hall. The show starts at dusk, while all attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, snacks and blankets.
A synopsis of The Goonies: Mikey and Brandon Walsh are two brothers whose family and neighborhood is being forced to move because of the development of a golf course. When Mikey stumbles on a treasure map of the famed “One-Eyed” Willy’s hidden fortune, he, his brother, and a few friends set out on a quest to find vast riches in hopes of saving their homes. Their journey leads them to a cavern located underneath an abandoned restaurant that is occupied by the Fratelli family, a treacherous group of thieves who attempt to beat The Goonies to the treasure.
