Kingstonist has made some very promising progress during the month of May, as we’ve continued to increase our readership, and audience participation thanks to your invaluable comments. New team members such as Duke Smythe have provided a historical perspective of the Limestone City, while Zenith’s weekly photo’s have offered another glimpse into the goings on around Kingston. The addition of Lauren Raham, a seasoned editor, has also been encouraging as she’s identified a few aspects of the site we can make better. As well, we’re really looking forward to the involvement of local new media specialist Tommy Vallier, who brings a great deal of vision and experience to our burgeoning slice of the Interweb. I would be remiss if I did not mention the efforts of all the regular and guest contributors including: Danielle Lennon, Isabel Cooper, David Bailey and Matt Pedlar, who have been instrumental in making Kingstonist.com the best alternative news source in Kingston. If you want to join the team, simply drop us a line.

And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for. It gives me great pleasure to announce the winner of our May Comment Contest is non other than our most active commenter, Ian Jackson. As promised, he will receive a gift certificate to his choice of French Bistro, le Chien Noir, or goumet pizzeria, Atomica. To the rest of our commenting audience, I want to thank you for your fantastic feedback, which I hope you’ll continue to provide as we make the final push towards Summer. By the end of this week, we’ll be announcing details regarding our June Comment Contest, so stay tuned.

It took me three months to win, but I think it’s the best prize thus far, no? Thanks, and don’t worry, I’ll still be commenting even tho I won!
