It’s that glorious time of the week, where we can kick back and relax, stay out later, and sleep in longer. Not only is it the weekend, but it’s the last weekend in May, and therefore the last chance to drop us a comment. Remember, comments automatically enter you into our super special contest to win a gift certificate for one of Kingston’s finest downtown restaurants. And without further adieu, here’s some of the highlights from this weekend’s event calendar.

The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is happening at the Royal Military College tonight until tomorrow morning. This is an unbelievable event to be a part of, and even if you aren’t registered, there’s lot’s to do. From star gazing, to live music, and the tear jerking luminary ceremony.
The Grand Theatre presents Women Fully Clothed, a sketch comedy show starring five of Canada’s funniest women: Kathryn Greenwood, Robin Duke, Debra McGrath, Jayne Eastwood and Teresa Pavlinek.
The Domino Theatre is finishing its run of Neil Simon’s Rumours this weekend. Tickets are $15 and you can catch it tonight or Saturday at 8pm.

Check out the dueling fiddles of Boru’s Harp, who will be playing at the RCHA with friends Jenica Rayne and Patty Kenny. Admission is $5, which is almost as easy to swallow as the always affordable bar prices. But be warned, this place is quite quaint, and therefore it fills up fast.
Matthew Good and his band are also playing a show on Saturday at AJ’s Ale House, while advance tickets are going for a whopping $28, and are even more pricey at the door.
Sunday, 1st of June ‘08
We previously mentioned that the Kingston Symphony would be performing their annual Beat Beethoven Run, which starts at 10:30 at Confederation Park in front of City Hall. The basic concept is that the symphony plays Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 while runners attempt to run 8km (or walk 4km) before the work is completed. It’s free, so you really have nothing to lose by checking it out before brunch.
After the concert, go on a walking tour of archaeological sites in downtown Kingston in celebration of Archaeology Week. The Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation will be hosting a variety of activities from June 1-6.
