There’s Music Everywhere

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend between making plans for mom (don’t forget!), there is tons of music going on in the city. We’d love to know what else is happening so please let us know of any upcoming events. We’ll cover your music shows, theatre, art exhibits, fun runs, fundraisers…you name it!

Beauty and the Beast

The Kinsmen Club of Kingston presents this great musical as the opening event for the newly restored Grand Theatre. The show has already run for one week and will continue to run from May 9-11 and 14-17 with 2pm matinees on the 10th and 17th. Evening shows begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $38.75 for adults and $28.25 for children 12 and under.

Orchestra Kingston

This newly formed community orchestra presents its premiere performance on Friday, May 9 at 8pm at St. George’s Cathedral. The concert will include works by Mozart, Brahms, Saint-Saens and arrangements by the Maestro, John Palmer. Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 for students and seniors.

The Bruebeck and Braid Quintet

The Kingston Jazz Society presents this great group as a part of the Live @ Your Library Concert Series. The quintet features Toronto pianist David Braid and American cellist Matt Bruebeck. The group combines classical and swing music for a truly unique sound. The event takes place at The Wilson Room at the Kingston Frontenac Library downtown at 2pm on Sunday,May 11. Tickets are $15 at the door, $8 for students.

Midnight Smokin’ Daley and the Consequences

Check out this band that plays a lively mix of blues, R & B and classic rock at the RCHA Club on Ontario Street on Saturday, May 10 at 8pm.
