Bus Damn Tour

Well, Avril’s Best Damn Tour rolled into town yesterday and things went off without a hitch. The local superstarlet brought with her over six tour buses and just as many tractor trailers filling the city with excitement, and draining the fuel supply at local gas stations. Teenage fans were lined up as early as 2pm for the 7:30 show which was opened by Boston’s Boys Like Girls. I find it hard to believe that so many young students had afternoon spare periods yesterday, but good concerts tend to have that effect. On that note, perhaps the headline should read “High Truancy Rate Linked to Lavigne Concert”, but I digress.
I spoke with some fans as they left the concert and there were no disappointed faces to be found. Concert-goers, mostly young girls dressed like their idol, and their reluctant parents, were still reeling with excitement as they left the K-Rock Centre last night. One young attendee exclaimed: “She sang everything! Her dancers were so good, and she even said hi to an old friend in the audience!”
Avril is no one-trick pony as she showed off her skills on the piano, guitar and drums, as well as belting out all of her trademark tunes. She invited the audience to join, which they did without hesitation. In fact, there were very few people in attendance who didn’t know all the lyrics to each and every one of her songs.
All in all, the first rock show since The Tragically Hip’s opening concert was a huge success. Now, how can we get more bands like these (who aren’t doing a favour for their pseudo-hometown) to come and sell out the Krock?

I’d give give anything to see The Roots play Kingston. They’ve played in TO twice this year, and at venues slightly smaller than the K-Rock Center. Also would pay to see Metric or even Queen’s of the Stone Age…also with largish venue concerts coming up
Second the Roots. Saw them back in ‘06 at the Kool Haus in TO. A terrible venue because it’s all one level, and you can’t see past the 3rd row.
I heard from some friends her show was really good. Full of teeny-boppers, but really good nonetheless. Nice to see that Avril isn’t a passing phase.
